Purepotions – Skin Salvation

Skin care! If you’re anything like me and your skin is still recovering from the harsh winter season then I could have the ideal products for you! I’m quite lucky in that I don’t tend to have sensitive skin (which I can only imagine is a complete nightmare for those of you out there who do suffer!). However, I do notice that during the winter months my skin can feel rough, patchy and just generally unhappy (oddly this matches my own mood, Christmas is fun but once that’s over I’m so ready for summer!). So when I was asked to try the Purepotions Skin Salvation range specially developed for dry skin I jumped at the opportunity!

Founded by a Mum who had searched for a product that wouldn’t aggravate her daughter’s chronic eczema Purepotions started it’s life in a family kitchen. Natalie Balmond wanted to create a moisturiser for her little girl Lula after despairing at the off -the-shelf synthetic chemicals that would irritate and sting her delicate, itchy skin. After experimenting with natural ingredients such as hemp, calendula, nettle and olive eventually she created a formula that would help to hydrate and maintain the health of her sensitive skin naturally and without any painful reactions. After sharing her potion with family and friends word soon spread about her amazing discovery and before she knew it, Natalie was inundated with requests for her gentle ointment. Purepotions was later expanded to include a range of products such as lip balm, salves, deodorants, oils and creams.

Since then Purepotions have created a range of products that are specially created for those with dry skin complaints ranging from occasional patches of itchy, flaky skin to medical conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and allergies. Their Dry Skin Range is ideal for those who find that external triggers such as hand washing, dry environments, chemicals or clothing can cause a flare-up, whilst also catering for those internal causes such as medication or allergies which are often equally to blame!

The key difference about the Purepotions range compared to other skin care brands is that it is free from artificial chemicals, perfumes and parabens. This makes it the natural choice for helping to maintain soft, nourished and hydrated skin – you know exactly what you are putting on to your body – a key advantage if you tend to react to synthetic chemicals or perfumes. For those of you who prefer natural ranges and are always keen to know the ingredients and processes that your products go through before they reach the shelves I can assure you that Pure Potions is not tested on animals, made here in the UK and uses the goodness of natural herbs and oils to care for you skin – what more could you ask for?!

Although all of the Purepotions ranges are made from kind-to-skin ingredients and can be used by both adults and children alike they have also recently created a specialised Baby Skincare Range to cater for the tiniest of customers. This range includes products such as Lavender Nappy Salve and Chamomile Baby Oil – ideal for cleansing and baby massage!

*I was sent the Dry Skin range by the lovely folk at Purepotions to try as part of this post. All opinions are my own and I only feature products that are fitting and in keeping with the tone and content of my blog or Instagram page.
